I don't think anyone is saying that it's ONLY shorters that are to blame - at least I'm not saying that. Obviously there's much more to the story than that.
The point is that even when there is a basis for gaining a little traction, that seems to trigger some oppositional momentum, so whatever glimmers of positive movement begin to surface are quickly swallowed up in a downward trend.
It just looks weird IMO.
We'll only know if there will be some follow-up from what appears to be increased attention to acquisitions. That's what today's news may have signaled, and if that's true we'll see some real movement.
