TA, ± $18,000 has been quoted by SEVU...

somewhere for an 8 cameras system for Parking Lots... Say, each camera covers at most an area 100' in Diameter, since a person more than 50' away from the camera will be unrecognizable... To make calculations easier, we'll assume an area 100' square for each cameras, hence each set of 8 cameras covers 800 square feet...

However, some of these Costco and Home Depot Parking Lots, cover several acres and, based on previous calculations, they would need 55 x 8 cameras or 27 x 16 cameras systems, since 1 acre = 43,560 square feet... I don't see how more than a few systems can be run without interferences on the same electrical circuits and if it could, then the cost would start to become prohibitive...

Will the Stores be content to cover only one tiny fraction of their Parking Lots with Security cameras?... I doubt it very much and you guys have a lot more work to do to make the concept operate in a logical and efficient manner on a large surface... Thankfully, you'll be the first in-house engineer on staff: any idea how you're going to solve these problems?...
