Last time I ran on the beach, for any distance, was 1967 as a Marine recruit and I guarantee you I wasn't barefoot. lol

You've got a pretty impressive resume! I cannot imagine running barefoot for a long distance. My knees and most everybody else's knees would not do well. Actually, I wound up having a bone-on-bone knee surgery because I played too much tennis with shoes with little cushion.
