Agreed that a good fit needs to be found vs. just throwing whatever at it.

Also agreed that a reassuring communication is in order and its need should be obvious. Doesn't need to confirm any details or make promises, just a sign of life that doesn't give the appearance of being sent while sitting on the shitter.
