This is how CRM moved from being just another sales management software company to becoming the company they are today. Once you're a well run, fast growing, software company you've got nothing but stacks of cash to buy smaller companies with complimentary and/or competing products before they go public. Rinse, repeat. If AVPT gets big enough and develops enough product, MSFT may buy them.
