This is what I've always thought
If you look at the banks, institutions, governments and elites that are involved in ripple ledger, it makes zero sense what so ever for a couple of people within the SEC, of all places, to push back against this massive wave of powerful entities. Zero scence
Or, as suggested, to hold down price to not track the swirles of btc while this project and transformation is being constructed
