yeah... Remember all those "2%" CPI years and all the overbearing, smothering government control over everything at every level? Los Angeles, the gem of efficiency and reason that it is, has building costs north of $500/sq ft. That is after un-latching all the cross departmental catch-22 in the way of getting a permit. Maybe more of those covid stimulus checks will help affordability.
