They simply can't hire enough package handlers fast enough.

FedEx Ground looking to hire 2,400 in the Triad for the holiday season and beyond

In preparation for the holiday season, FedEx Ground (NYSE: FDX) is looking to add 2,400 jobs at its distribution hub in Kernersville. The company is holding a hiring day Thursday, Sept. 23, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the facility at 1544 Old Greensboro Road.

Recruiters will be on site to interview applicants. Not all of the jobs are seasonal.

“Current available positions are for more than seasonal employment and include a mix of full- and part-time openings,” a FedEx Ground spokesperson told Triad Business Journal. “We are hiring for thousands of positions across our network, granting competitive offers and pay enhancements that may also be available in select markets.”

Positions include package handlers, managers and other support staff with opportunities for advancement as demand for services grows and the company’s networks expand. Applicants may apply at the event or online at fedex.com/hiringday.

My son has been working for them for 2 1/2 years now and he is a trainer on the outbound side for FedEx ground here. His normal shift is twilight Tuesday through Saturday. He has been working 12x7 and takes a day off when he needs it.

He and I just got back from a 4 day trip to Cooperstown for the baseball Hall of Fame ceremony.

All the way through VA, WVA and PA warehouses were advertising for workers from $15-$20 an hour. His hub here only loads to cities along the way as far north Harrisburg, PA.

So everyone is desperate for help. Amazon would love for him to come to work here but he said fuck Bezos and the shit he pays his employees.

They recently asked him to work on the inbound side to see if he has the same effect on what he does on the outbound side.

They don't load out for delivery but just to centers where they get broken down for delivery.

The earnings they released were a minor hiccup. I know what he clears a week.
