Unless/until its integrated into the vehicle engine it will be near useless for theft and recovery. As pointed out on this board it is very easy to install and is visible from the drivers street. Anyone who is going to steal the car is going to think about looking down and pulling anything in the diagnostic link scanner before driving off.
