#2818 RE: NYBob #2817

Many years back I worked underground in a rehabilitation of an old lead silver zinc mine first opened in the 1880's. They were throwing away a mineral they had no idea how to use.... Molybdenum. That's one dangerous job, never knowing when it might collapse from above... or from below. Never knowing where some old dynamite has turned into Nitro. I was fortunate to have worked along some old timers whose underground knowledge was extraordinary.

The company planned to rebuild the whole entire complex mill and all under the ground and hidden from view. Still it was not enough to satisfy the green tree huggers who brought environmental lawsuits. After fighting many years in court the company abandoned the project. Today there are tons and tons of silver and moly and the other associated minerals just sitting there... as the hipsters drive around in their fancy 4X4's decrying mining... oh but now, the story is shifting for them... some mining is ok as long as it produces what is needed for electric vehicles and replaces anything carbon..and even there lies an exception, graphene. They like graphene and diamonds.
