gfp; One thing that struck me in Arkansas, and I'm sure this is true all over the country. It is how completely uninformed or misinformed people in general are on all manner of subjects, from Covid, to the economy, to the Afghan withdrawal fiasco, Biden's slim grip on reality....all of it. Because of Covid we haven't gone out much in social situations. And at the music festival we sat at a table of 8 with friends of our friends. I mostly kept my opinions and knowledge to myself but I almost spit up my beer through my nose with some of the utterances I was hearing. And this was from upper middle class people. The continued Trump derangement syndrome, the excuse making over Biden, a complete disbelief that there was anything suspicious about the last election, failure to understand the economy at all.....Pitiful. But Fayetteville is a college town, and most of the people there were graduates of Univ of Arkansas, so they trend liberal. It's sad to see how much wasted money has gone into higher education in the last 40 years. 90% of our population isn't going to know what hit them in the next couple of years. The Saudis are making deals to enable their existence in a post American world. They will start taking other currencies for oil. The Petro Dollar's demise will follow. And with it the Dollar's role as the world's reserve currency will come to a close. And our standard of living will drop precipitously. I just turned 65. I'm just trying to navigate our continued existence over the next 0-25 years. I can't fix what ails this country. Perhaps half a century of deprivation will harden our populace and redirect their focus from pronouns to productivity.
