I had a bid yesterday for the last 30 min and it didn't get filled, it kept jumping around me.

The orders that are being executed between the bid and the ask are more than likely not retail unless they are an all or nothing trades. I don't disagree that retail are probably the ones either initiating the selling or buying, but the fact that they rarely hit the bid and ask is very odd to me, which is why I say MM games. I'm not an expert, so I could be wrong. imo
