#2290 RE: OriginalFred #2289

Fred, Thanks for being honest. I'm a little curious how you made money on this stock, but that's neither here nor there. Penny stocks appeal to me as much as any gambler, but I have a cautious streak too and frankly I would never have dived into this stock or any other penny stock for more than a hundred bucks. I "inherited" a position in GPGD that was hopelessly lost and I just didn't bother to dump it out of my portfolio. I watched the stock most of last year and then, in response to the censorship here, I took a more aggressive interest. What I found has captured my gambling imagination. Anyway, I don't know much about penny stocks, but my guess is that this one is not typical, so what you learn here might not apply to other opportunities.

As far as details go, I have no inside information, so I am able to share anything and everything. For example, at one point you insinuated that GPGD was going to be removed from pink sheets. So I called pink sheets and got the scoop: not true. I sought and received off-line confirmation of the September press release, and I learned that the negotiations were held up because of some engineering questions. When news and rumors of Chavez' socialist agenda started circulating a few weeks ago, I checked out whether it was causing any problems for the merger. From that I learned, first that nothing is going on with Chavez, and that the merger is taking place at the end of January. So, I infer that (a) the news is over-hyped, (b) the engineering questions have been settled, (c) that the merger contract is final and (d) it is only a matter of time until it closes.

Now, the fact that so much time has passed should not surprise anyone who has bought a house or watched business negotiations. I won't even be surprised if the merger doesn't happen this month. Good things are worth waiting for. If there is no news by mid to late February, I will pick up the phone and ask some more questions. Could I be deceived? Yes, that is always a possibility. That is why I keep hoping someone else will take some initiative or post some corroboration.

If you have unanswered questions about GPGD's future, you can post them here and I'll tell you what I know or what I think. If they are serious enough for me, I'll find the answer. Keep in mind, that the moderator is the same one that previously censored our posts (if public messages are censored, you can try a private message).

Finally, I know you were honest about your motives, but if you are after education then I have two suggestions. First, there is no better way to learn than to put your own money at stake. Second, when you have invested in a company, it gives you some rights to inquire (in my opinion), and that will further enhance your educational experience. Good luck!
