I think you're looking at the RegSHO which is not how many shares are currently short. But the high percentage does suggest that MMs are having trouble locating shares to handle trades. That said, we may say a short squeeze. Some of the trading looks to be robotic and it seems unlikely the bots know what's going on and may get caught by news.
