KBLB must report sales revenues. This is a requirement for public companies in the US. If they sell $250,000 in silk, they have to report that on their 1Q or 10-K reports.
KBLB does not have to report who they sold to or how much was paid per yard. But gross revenues are a must, just as they must report expenses each quarter.
Given that revenues must be reported quarterly, why not announce it sooner? These are borderline material events at this time. One could make the argument that they must be reported within 3 days.
I have been here 5+ years and still remain positive. Kim can do what he wants, it is his firm. If that really bothered me I would have sold long ago. Dimes made a great point about eventually the amount will come out. The worst case scenario is 3 months down the pike. Why not a bit sooner? Okay Kim says no! I'm fine with that.
