Naked Brand soars after announcing preliminary merger agreement

Naked Brand Group (NAKD +10.1%) shares are rising after the company has announced that it has reached a preliminary agreement with a merger or acquisition partner. Naked did not note the company, only saying that it "is in a sector which has been forecast to have strong growth for many decades to come."
The company currently has a net cash balance of
$270M
and recently divested its Bendon brick-and-mortar operations. Naked believes that the high premium placed on current mergers and acquisitions will benefit shareholders.
"We have a strong balance sheet, no debt and an asset-light operating model and we see a very favourable M&A environment around the globe," said CEO Justin Davis-Rice.
