HPIL: There are already many products that have batteries and can maintain a charge for a period of time - Many of which are inanimate objects, ie. cellphones, automatic self-winding watches, alternators in ICEs etc.. Then there is also the KERS {Kinetic Energy Recovery Systems} used in Formula 1 racing.

The batteries are charged to start out but they are recharge by back EMF.
