It does not represent a true list of the 5000 "fastest-growing companies" due to the fact that there are likely thousands of companies who did not feel compelled to apply. Many of the companies that made the list, would have likely been pushed off if those non-applicants had applied, making the entire list arbitrary and only a representation of this small group. Also, there is no analysis of fluctuations in certain companies' rankings and why those fluctuations might be happening.
