I’ve done many acquisitions in the waste and tire industries via a public Co. it’s actually easier for a public co to engage with another public co as both have been audited and the attorneys are accustomed to the landscape vs buying a private Co. However, clearing or negotiating the debt is always a sticking point and needs to be done on one or both sides.
