Now this doesn't have to do with the truth but it does when the big picture is involved of church attendance, etc ............
My brothers church has a potluck today. Once a month they do it.
That is one of the things that the church has strayed from.
Now some may think huh?
Well, we need fellowship with each other.
Create bonds in Christ.
My favorite church years ago we had potlucks but most important small group Bible study once a week.
That was fantastic time of studying God's word, lifting each other up, getting to know each other in a deeper more meaningful way.
Other part was testimonies ...........
They do the same thing lifting each other up.
Bringing glory to God.
With some we find out needs people had we didn't know.
We find out God is working in people's lives in such a way maybe we can help with that part.
Just these two items most churches have went away from especially the testimony which I saw do so much good for the body of Christ.
Church became a PROGRAM where I live.
Only have this much time for announcements, singing, message, time to get your butt home for football right?
I remember as a kid the Pastor saying hope that roast beef isn't burning but I can't stop here.
Oh my, back when the spirt of God led the church not the clock.
My favorite Pastor sometimes testimony time would be the church service.
That would NEVER happen in majority of churches today.
When the spirit of God isn't leading the church service than the truth continues of be watered down to please the people instead of teaching the truth!
