but I must say that there stock (no pun) answer is it's a pink sheet stock and market makers. Your answer earlier was one they never made clear. GTC orders are not given the first nod over Day Orders.

If that's true, then my brokerage firm has not helped me in any way. I have lost a significant amount of money this way, which is why I would end up hitting the bid or taking the offer.
