A construction Superintendent whom I worked with long ago (a WW2 Sergeant) as a project engineer, would say at times, do SOMETHING even if it turns out wrong, we'll adjust course and fix it.

Covid is a a much larger project than most private companies, never mind public companies, have ever worked on.

Kinda an all hands on deck situation since ~ early 2020.
