It has already been explained. There is no DTC chill - it is NOT REGISTERED at DTC, and your dumb brokerage doesn't understand that. Get a brokerage like etrade and be done with the stupidity. I've been on etrade since 2008, and have even bought gray market stocks with them. They don't CARE what you want to buy - it's your money.
Deadinvestor, people are tired of answering this question. TDA has prevented people from buying NSAV forever. There is no hope of you buying it through them. You should open an ETrade account ASAP. Your problems will be gone. Our CEO says there is no DTC Chill. He covered the issue a week or two back on his Twitter account.
Yes happened with other penny stocks in the past. TD is not penny friendly on many OTC plays. Open an E trade account and you won’t run into that problem. Hope that helps.
As others mentioned, you will need to open an ETrade, Fidelity, or Schwab account.
If you want to pursue Ameritrade you can forward the below link to the rep who told you there was a DTC Chill. The two attachments contain the DTCC Chills and Global Locks. Point out that NSAV is not on either list and they are giving out incorrect information.
It's their internal decision and they are miscommunicating it 100 times monthly. Good Luck.
