HUMM!!! You mean that Jesus was telling His decibels to sell their garment and purchase a sword? WOW, That is pretty heavy....I suppose that this is one of those Scriptures which calls us to speak to God about and draw our own conclusion......Most interpreters refuse to believe that Jesus was speaking literally. Some think of "sword" as used in Ephesians 6:17----but over the years I have really wondered about this Scripture and where I arrived, was that the Jewish people's attitude had changed so much that now Jesus thought that His decibels would now need money, provisions and even a means of defense. (earlier in His ministry, He told His decibels to go out with nothing---but now times have changed) Some will say, NOPE...sword really is just a knife, maybe something to use against wild animals and the such, but the Greek word for sword used here in Luke means "a weapon of warfare."....Then I looked up the Greek & Hebrew word for knife and learned that they are 2 different words. It is possible that Jesus contemplated the emergence of a situation in which His followers would have to resist aggression by the means of force. Nothing here indicates violence, but self-defense. My belief, and this would be my opinion, God has given me a wonderful, beautiful family and I believe that God expects me to care for them, to protect them---like I said my opinion. My attitude also carries over to FREEDOM, God has given me freedom and I also have a responsibility to protect freedom.

Here's my opinion ................

To many times people say God is love bla bla bla.

Well, yes they are right God is love ble bla bla.

But God also does what he needs to do to fulfill his will.

Look at the wars he started.

He knows evil.

He knows the future.

So if God is love would God allow you to not have a way to protect yourself & your family?

Protecting your family is part of love but people like to place God in this box that has no turmoil in it.

No REALITY is in this box of fantasy.

God talks about discipline that if one does wrong should I not correct one?

How can that be love if I don't?

I say that part because people want God to be what the main stream church portrays him to be in order to fill the offering plates.

When Fathers day happens so many of us no longer have Fathers here or didn't have one growing up and people say but the Heavenly Father can be your Father and they are correct.

Yet, when it comes time for that Father to correct them that doesn't fit in the box they placed him in.

Just like the sword.

What is that sword doing in that box?

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, sword is in the box because GOD knows EVIL exists everywhere we go.

I keep trying to pound it into my Wife & kids head you got to be on high alert EVERYWHERE you go don't care where you at you got to be aware who is around you, what is being said, are you being set up?

Why?

Cause we are in the last days and evil is raging all around us like never before.

It is out in the open now not even hid.

So brothers & sisters you best have your sword ready because being PC isn't going to save you nor your loved ones!
