An unsolicited stock means the market makers are not required to make a market but they can if they want too. The more attention a stock gets the better the chance the MM's will play the game.
That is why I believe the MM's are loading up NOW for the next move up since they didn't make any money on the intial run up except retail fee's.
Since the MM's were not loaded up on shares the first time around now we will see more manipulation for them to get cheaper prices. Right now the MM's are making sure that the retail interest is enough to chance taking inventory for the next move up. imho
Respectfully, I take your reply to be the more theoretical one and not how things do sometimes occur in actuality. There is a big difference between cannot and will not.
