I hope so - good to have some big names out there. It could be very exciting but at the same time it seems like they have a big hill to climb to get it to pass.
And for me the uncertainty also has become even larger because I had thought all radio stations were required to report and Soundstr was just going to make it easier. Since the articles about that bill are saying that many (most?) don't have to and don't want to report, I don't know how much value Soundstr can bring to the industry as it stands right now, if it turns out the bill doesn't pass. The lack of progress on Soundstr may be due to this lack of demand for what it has to offer.
It's a great idea to make things fair for musicians through technology, but sometimes what makes sense and is most fair gets squashed by those with the most power.
