To my ear, it almost sounds like the same song until the vocals kick in.

Some of the classic riffs for the Pink Floyd tune are identical for the first few notes of the Van Morrison song.

I wonder what Pink Floyd listened to before they wrote their song?

I can hear myself singing, “So, you think you can tell…” for part of the Van Morrison song.
