If we're merely burning the stuff, then what makes this a clean energy technology? Is it simply a matter of turning biomass that would decompose into methane and CO2 anyway and getting megawatts out of it? Or do we have some superefficient burners that reduce emissions by--oh I don't know--combusting the woodchips at very high temperatures and then recombusting the exhaust or something?
