If accounting could be explained in a simple message board post, we wouldn't have an industry that generates hundreds of billions of dollars a year. If you actually want to know what you're talking about, take some accounting classes or buy some accounting text books and study them.

Look, no one was expecting a graduate level course over a message board. You could very easily give a few counterpoints to the OP thru this forum though. You know, main idea type stuff...something to back up what your point was.

For example:
"No, poster, you're wrong about COST vs. EQUITY accounting (I believe that was the topic of discussion). Taxes are figured by blah blah blah because of blah blah blah."


But you went with "Go buy an accounting book."

Good stuff.
