Nobody knows, we’ll find out. But here is a hypothetical:

-If you start with a charged battery..there is your initial power source.
-Dual battery system
-Primary battery powers car AND secondary energy source. (Whatever it may be)
-Secondary energy source slowly charges secondary battery.
-When primary battery is depleted, the entire mechanism reverses.
-Secondary battery becomes primary battery
-Former primary battery is now being charged while former secondary runs operations

Not hard. That's what I did 8 (yes 8) years ago when my friend told me about this. I'm sure it has advanced to the point it could be used in 2021.
Plus, I didn't invent the nano-technology usage in generators, just a big FYI for everyone that re-chargeable car batteries are a reality and not some made up sci-fi Star Wars thing.
