Yeah, I know, seems like a contradiction. Aren't we all? Purely personal opinions. No one from any miner has asked for my opinion, yet!!! ;-) Its location is closer, easier to keep an eye on.

I don't recall what resource the Argentinian power plant uses. Renewable?

El Salvador: Geothermal electricity generation, billion kilowatthours, 1980 - 2019: For that indicator, we provide data for El Salvador from 1980 to 2019. The average value for El Salvador during that period was 0.88 billion kilowatthours with a minimum of 0.34 billion kilowatthours in 1986 and a maximum of 1.47 billion kilowatthours in 2016. The latest value from 2019 is 1.37 billion kilowatthours. For comparison, the world average in 2019 based on 190 countries is 0.44 billion kilowatthours. See the global rankings for that indicator or use the country comparator to compare trends over time.

This should thrill The Muskrat

El Salvador energy needs are almost entirely from renewables so infrastructure is in place. Much smaller Gov't, budget, reasonably stable economy and Gov't.

Crypto savvy - they have a vested interest in making any mining effort succeed. Nothing wrong with replacing China as a miner's haven especially in the Western Hemisphere.

El Salvador has become the first country in the world to officially classify Bitcoin as legal currency. ... The new law means every business must accept Bitcoin as legal tender for goods or services, unless it is unable to provide the technology needed to do the transaction.
