FALSE! The average time to open a mine in the US from discovery to production is 18 YEARS. YEARS.

The required State and Federal environmental studies alone take about 5 years and tens of millions of dollars, and that is before any court cases or unexpected challenges to anything they studies uncover.

Here is a real example from a proposed Nevada lithium mine.

This is why it takes 18 YEARS and hundreds of millions of dollars to bring a mine into production. This company is already in year 11 on their lithium project, not counting the decades of prior exploration.
