My thought is if I don't have what they feel is sufficient coverage they margin call and take it before there is loss that the brokerage has to pay. Hence, brokerages shouldn't have to pay if they effectively monitored their customerd. If they let the big boys slide, then yea, they risk paying for their losses. Why not?
