The assayed amount is the total recoverable amount of gold and silver believed to be in the carbon.

And this is admittedly where my knowledge is very limited. What is the assayed amount based on? I assume weight. However, the weight of unrefined gold and silver caught within the carbon filters won't be the same as the amount (weight) in the final (sellable) gold.

Spot price is based on 1 Troy oz of .999 gold or silver. The gold and silver calculated in the assays are far from that standard. So to me, it doesn't make sense that a refiner would pay 97% or 95% of spot price for material they have to process to get to that .999 standard.

Also, given Mexus poor outcome with assay numbers, I'm not sure a refiner would trust their calculations. Is there some check and balance system or proof that a certain standard was met that Mexus had to demonstrate to the refiner?
