P K G is correct about VISX, because tragically I bought some in early 1998 but changed my mind for something else. Within a year and a half I know it went from around 40 to well over 100 with a couple 2/1 splits, the market cap going from around 600 million to around 6 billion by late 1999. Fortuneately a lot of other stuff was strong during that period too, but very few as strong.

I will get out my 1998 file and give this to you in every detail because you have talked nice to me. Not to boast, but to just show you how it is done. Anyone can do it. It takes luck and a lot of nerve but many people make a lot of money using this method. I have had some other minis but no big one. Missed a few where this would have done well. I just don't take risks like that anymore.
To clear up one thing. The stock split 2 for 1 four times. I first bought it at $40. After the splits this was adjusted to $10. So while I had it, it went from $40 to $440. Adjusted that is $10 to $110. You understand how that works.
I cashed out $1,000,000 after 14 weeks. Made another $1,500,000 the next 16 weeks and sold out. You can see what I would have made had I not taken the first $1,000,000 out! Like I said it takes nerve. I had a $1,000,000 and I wasn't going to let it get away. The money I put in was cash I had gotten on my credit cards. So as they say. "I was all-in." I really believed this company was on to something that would sweep the country as it did.
