Thanks for sharing that info! The developer provided an excellent explanation. I'm more confident than ever about my investment here. Micro Buddies can be huge, and with the tiny float it's a no brainer to load at this price. IMHO.

I am the designer and game director of the MicroBuddies project. I wanted to provide some clarity on your points:
Crypto Kitties is certainly an inspiration for MicroBuddies, but it is a strong design goal to distinguish ourselves from them in the space. One fundamental difference is that Crypto Kitties require two parents, while MicroBuddies (being microbes), are asexual. As you can imagine, this single difference changes everything about the game, from how breeding (or in our case, replication) is performed to how traits are selected and/or introduced, and adds quite a number of new game mechanics.
Avid players of Crypto Kitties are very passionate about discovering different ways kitties interact when bred together, and how to achieve certain genetic combos. Our game will play VERY different as a result of having only a single parent.
As the OP mentioned, we do have a cryptocurrency involved with our game. However, it's more than just a medium of exchange, it is the currency of the game, similar to a traditional game, except it's a crypto that is your asset and can be bought/sold on third party marketplaces - MicroBuddies passively produce GOO for you just by virtue of you having them in your wallet, and you can use that GOO to replicate your MicroBuddy or do a number of different things with their traits through artificial selection mechanisms. This creates for us a fusion between NFTs, gaming, and DeFi (decentralized finance) - three of the most incredible markets on the planet today. There are even more uses for GOO that could be developed in the future, and GOO is a huge part of achieving my vision of creating games where the players are able to make money simply doing what they love while they just so happen to be creating productive assets they can sell in the process. :)
With regard to the Ethereum blockchain, you make a great point. While we are launching on Ethereum, we are very aware of its issues at current, so our roadmap has plans to bridge over to more scalable blockchains like the L2 Polygon, the Binance Smart Chain, and others.
