I am not as tight as you are on that point of action. It varies enough that it can not be automatic. Though it does work in most cases.
As you well know, selling comes with a price tag. Especially for those trading short term (under a year). You might as well put a price tag on any sale with a 30% reduction due to capital gains tax.
Always a consideration when you trade. Here, I chose not to consider VXIT a short term hold. Yes, some trade but the majority of my holdings remain in place. I would not want it any other way.
Fast buck is always nice. But other considerations always exist to temper the 'buy on the hype, sell on the news' approach.
There are many ways to "gain" in the market. They all have an up side AND a downside. Which one to use at its prime point of return is really what makes a wise trader become a winner. Never 'always' but 'most of the time' when it really counts is my goal...getting better at achieving that goal is what keeps me going.
