Alcoholism in the U.S. is responsible for more than 95,000 deaths per year, or 261 deaths per day. These deaths shorten the life span of those individuals by an average of 29 years.
Relative to drug related deaths more than 70,000 Americans died per year from the use of illicit drugs and/or prescription opioids.
These numbers pale in comparison to the number of individuals rendered incapacitated in their daily lives related to drug & alcohol abuse.
