Climber18,_the paved_road_to carry_BRZ lithium_to sea_is the_same road which would carry our neighbors Argentina lithium westward to the sea thus circumventing a long haul round the Cape Horn.
I am guessing that China's President Xi Jinping trusts Tianqi (in Chile) not much further than he could pick them up off the ground and throw them (after having had to bail them out last year with a huge underwriting co-sign)... but he does seem to trust Ganfeng quite a bit and Ganfeng is going full speed in Mexico and Argentina.
Ganfeng and Jujuy miners in Argentina can haul their lithium westward (straight west) over nice paved Chilean roads for a fee (thanks to the strategic work by NGO Chilean Mining Chamber's high-powered lobbying work in 2019) to Pacific Ocean seaports under current reasonable Chile/Argentina trade agreements for shipping to China (unlike Bolivia) so the Argentina miners will have the lithium edge easily by summer 2022 over everyone else.
