They can’t help but go naked. It’s usually an easy way for them to make money when a stock has been trading sideways and they naked bid to you so people buy a stock that the mms are naked short selling to them. It’s completely vapor. Then they drive the price down fast and irrationally. Some people sell (mms cover)... lots of people buy (mm’s cover) All profit without owning a bloody share.
