Is there any reasons while you shouldn't get both the Moderna then the Pfizer vaccines?

Although there shouldn't be much difference in Ab protective response, neither Pfizer or Moderna tested an arm involving 1 jab of each.

A more interesting question is what happens with the boosters this Fall? Let's suppose the Moderna mRNA-1273.351 booster, directed against the S African variant (B.1.351) is widely available come end of Oct. Just in time for the mutant Covid variant from hell featuring the same E484K spike mutation as the S African. Brazilian, Indian variants. Meanwhile you previously had received the two jabs of the Pfizer vaccine, and the Pfizer booster vaccine is going to be delayed another month or two. Guess what... Moderna is testing their booster only in those folks who received their vaccine. Would the FDA allow mixing of the boosters, if the Covid variant from hell appeared? Technically they shouldn't allow it. However, Drs can always go off label, while awaiting a UK study result.

There's a current

UK study

ongoing:

Recipients will have received either the Oxford-AstraZeneca or Pfizer vaccine and will be randomly allocated to receive either the same vaccine for their second dose or a dose of Novavax or Moderna’s jabs. If more vaccines are approved over the coming months, they may also be added to the trial.

My read on it is the Brits are trying to prove their vaccines Oxford-AstraZeneca, Novavax still get to play courtesy of Pfizer, and Moderna. Along with their vaccines being more readily available in the UK. But they will provide some data on mixing the Pfizer and Moderna.

P.S. Since I got the Moderna jabs, I won't have to argue with a Dr about mixing in the Fall.
