You can transfer to any ETH wallet you create including a nano hardware wallet. However, I transfered my ETH to NEXO where I get paid compounded interest paid in ETH to store it there. 4 or 5% Research nexo as another option.

Yes. You can transfer to metamask from anywhere.

Fair warning on coinbase. They are going to ask for a lot of personal information in order to verify your account. Most crypto brokerages do.
