"You have done very well Linda. I've noticed your trading calls and they were very well timed. Congrats."

Unless she's the one who liked Gateway.

They are in real trouble. Shouldn't have opened the "brick and morter" stores, in my opinion.

Dell's crushing them.

Syl: You're kind! I don't make calls very often, but when I do, I'm generally correct. Since it's rare that I do make a call, I miss a lot.

As for what do do next, I would ordinarily be thinking the Bull is going to continue, so it's safe to start plunging back into over-invested.

But, speaking conservatively, it's better for me to attend to the most dire predictions at times like this, because that's safer. I didn't actually realize you were predicting the end of the bull run till I saw some negative indications myself. I realized you were predicting a down period, but not that you thought the secular bear would be back full force. I myself wasn't predicting the end of the bull; just predicting a rough patch. But in order to be careful, I'm going to operate as if you're more likely to be correct than anyone else, including me. Which means I will not go back heavily into long positions right now, as I ordinarily might. Instead I'm going to continue to lighten up. I still have a lot of margin and I'm going to continue to reduce it. This could mean that I'll miss some great profits, of course, but it also will preserve more of my capital than if I rush back into buying everything in sight only to find that the market continues to go down.

While getting entirely off margin would put a severe crimp in my progress, I'm even giving some thought to that!
