Because of the terms of the plea
She can't be sentenced until she completes her agreement. Part of the terms is she has to testify at Dr Schena's trial.
If you watched the plea agreement with Judge Davila he was very clear about accepting the guilty plea. There will be no change of plea. There will be no chance for an appeal. He also made clear that if they thought the sentence was too harsh, they can't change the plea. She's guilty. So is Madan Mohan
She will testify against Dr Schena. If he is found not guilty, she can't go back and change her plea.
As I mentioned before, don't take message board comments. Check with a lawyer. Or even better take Judge Davila's word for it. He made it very clear when he accepted the guilty plea with their counsel present. There's no wiggle room at all.
