#372802 RE: DragonBear #372725

My full time company closed it's doors permanently December 2020. I was laid off at the beginning of covid 2020 because they shut down days, it was a restaurant and my shift was days. Small place, people with seniority, family members were kept on for evenings only. With early restrictions they had no choice but said they would make sure to call me back when they can go open again. Never happened and now it's gone. Small town, not much open for a retired dude. One place I tried was going to hire me but thought I may not be able to handle the lifting, not true, but they waited and hired younger. Nothing within a hundred miles where I could use my actual training and experience. 2 places within 20 miles have my resume but recently said although interested, they will not be hiring until sometime in the late summer.

Nearest big town is 45 miles away. Anything I saw there would be less than minimum wage and I'd end up paying them to work there with gas costs. Economically unfeasible. I had qualified last January 2021 for all the benefits federally, but no response even though the PUA account has the claim as allowed with dates.

Have to be thousands with my same problems.
I believe the feds are just dragging things out so people are finding work no matter if they lose money. Untold number of people losing their careers and working for less. You have to do what you have to do. My ss doesn't pay all the bills, so I'll never really be retired. Unless I win the lotto.
