Guessing those 6% to 5% are the percentage of the covid death certificate only, roughly 27,000, is of the CDC total, some 430,000, covid deaths at the time.

From my previous

post

with the embedded CDC link:

listing 555K Covid deaths, 452K had comorbidities. Hypertensive disease alone was 109K. Which is far in excess of 6% of the total, or whatever the hell you are talking about.

What I did was go through the chart titled "Comorbidities and other conditions". Then segregated what I considered a Comorbidity from the rest. And came up with the 452K number. For example I didn't include heart failure, because we don't know if the person had a prior heart condition. Or if they had a heart comorbidity before Covid infection.

Little stockmule seems to be suffering from inverse confusion. From the CDC:

For over 5% of these deaths, COVID-19 was the only cause mentioned on the death certificate.

Where 5% of 555 is 27K. Then in his confusion he claims that since 27K had only Covid as sole cause of death, that's the Covid death rate. That's the same as saying: If one was a diabetic, overweight, with high blood pressure as comorbidities, then one could not have died from Covid. Even if one entered the hospital seriously ill from Covid, and tested positive for Covid. In another words little stockmule doesn't understand the concept of "comorbidity".
