You don't understand the point. Booting up Windows or any other
operating system with similar functionality is non-trivial.

Coding a task manager or similar process display utility gives
you a feel for all of the stuff that's running in a system and
demonstrate to you that it's non-trivial.

A perhaps easier method would be to read the dinosaur book.
