If people don't want the vaccine here in the USA then let's just send it overseas.

Yeah, but Freddy says he's immune, as in no problem.

Linky

There are also signs that people who have already had COVID-19 can be reinfected more easily with this strain, Gupta wrote, especially over time, as their natural immunity wanes. These reinfections may be driving this second, explosive surge in India.

"The fact that case numbers fell in India during 2020 with limited social distancing makes me worry that the decline was related to reduced numbers of susceptible people," Gupta wrote, because so many Indians caught COVID-19 and became immune during the first wave. "And ... this [second] wave is driven by waning immunity + evasion, as suggested by B.1.1.7 and B.1.617 dominance."

Then we have...

"Likely vaccines will protect against severe illness and death but not against infection in those [people] with poorer immune responses."

Where "those [people] with poorer immune responses." is code for 60+ yrs.

8% of the 2nd jab mRNA vaccinations are now overdue. The Brits say one jab of Pfizer is good for 10 weeks. But they made no discrimination about age. And included only wildtype, and the UK variant. So how long will 1 jab last for any 65+ skipping the 2nd jab?

NYT

The New York Times reports that the reasons for skipping the second shot include fear of side effects, lack of supply and feeling that one dose provides enough protection.

Which places US herd immunity with a lot lacking

Although the U.S. ranks among the leading countries in the world with 42% of the population receiving at least one dose, only 28.5% of the country's 330 million people are fully vaccinated.

The US is dealing with a new wave courtesy of the B.1.1.7 variant. Capable of reinfecting those who had the wild type Covid virus. Freddy and his ilk aren't worried. After the B.1.1.7 variant runs out of susceptible population, then it will be time for the B.1.351, P.1, or B.1.617 from India to reinfect the Freddies of the world. If enough time passes, with the 1 jabber immunity going down, then throw in that crowd. Yep, herd immunity in the US is a fleeting concept.

The big question for today: Is Freddy Hindu?
