My theories re Einhorn were-
1. He’s dumb and happened to pick HWIN out while looking for something “overvalued” based on fins.
2. He’s dumb and thought it’d be a good shorting opportunity.
3. He’s dumb and has some negative history with someone involved (Coker or some of the foreign funds)

You make a lot of good points regarding everything about this whole thing.
