Net investment doesn't mean the initial contribution.
The net investment undisputed is the initial contribution minus the receipts of dividend payments. I don't think that is in dispute at all.
The total initial contribution still hasn't changed and since they were not allowed to pay back principal the principal remains the same according to treasury.
